Tiby Erdely

Tiby Erdely is a Founding Partner of KEY Investment Partners, where he leads the firm’s strategy, investment activities, capital formation, and continued development of the KEY platform. Since co-founding KEY, Tiby has helped build the firm into an institutional investment platform focused on identifying compelling opportunities in complex, rapidly evolving, and capital-constrained markets.

As an investor, Tiby has led six portfolio investments from sourcing and underwriting through execution, strategic oversight, and positioning companies for long-term value creation and eventual liquidity. He has served as a board member and strategic advisor to multiple portfolio companies and has led numerous co-investment syndication processes, bringing additional capital and strategic investors alongside KEY’s investments. He has also played a central role in developing the firm’s investment processes, sourcing network, and institutional investor relationships.

Tiby works across all areas of the firm, partnering closely with KEY’s investment team on new opportunities, portfolio company matters, transaction structuring, and complex strategic and execution issues. He is particularly focused on helping develop creative solutions to challenges across investments and the broader KEY platform. Tiby also leads many of the firm’s thought leadership and market education initiatives, helping translate KEY’s investment experience, research, and perspectives for investors, management teams, and industry participants.

Tiby has also been instrumental in the continued evolution of KEY’s investment platform. After establishing the firm as a specialist investor in the highly regulated cannabis industry, he has helped lead KEY’s expansion into frontier markets, applying the same disciplined investment approach to sectors characterized by technological disruption, market complexity, and significant long-term growth potential.

Prior to co-founding KEY, Tiby spent three years at Partners Group, a global private markets investment firm, where he gained experience across both the firm’s investment and client solutions teams. His experience included evaluating private market investments, working alongside investment teams across strategies, raising institutional capital, and developing relationships with investors and investment partners.

Tiby began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he spent four years, most recently with the Fundamental Equity team within Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Tiby holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at San Antonio, where he graduated with honors. He lives in Park City, Utah with his wife and their two dogs. Outside of KEY, Tiby enjoys skiing, traveling, live music, and pursuing local real estate development projects.
