Pete Karabas
Founding Partner
Pete co-founded KEY and leads firm operations, investments, and strategic initiatives. He has led six KEY investments across sourcing, underwriting, and execution, and serves as Chairman of the Board of BDSA and strategic advisor to three KEY portfolio companies. Before founding KEY, Pete was an investor at Partners Group, deploying $700M across 12 acquisitions, and previously worked at Equity Residential. He holds a degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Tiby Erdely
Founding Partner
Tiby co-founded KEY and is responsible for firm strategy, investments, and capital formation. He has led six portfolio investments from sourcing through exit, led the formation of KEY’s advisory board, and serves on the boards of Katalys, Day Three Labs, and Open Book Extracts. Before founding KEY, Tiby was at Partners Group and, earlier, Goldman Sachs. He holds a degree in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Jordan Youkilis
Founding Partner
Jordan co-founded KEY and leads our diligence strategy, deal sourcing, and co-investment execution. He has led six portfolio investments, including KEY’s investments in XS Financial, TRP, Highway Cannabis, and Garden Club. Before founding KEY, Jordan spent four years on Partners Group’s private equity team, executing control buyouts across $500M to $2.5B enterprise values, and four years in leveraged finance at GE Antares Capital. He holds a degree in Economics and Political Science from Indiana University.
Jake Piccoli
General Partner, Frontier Markets
Jake leads KEY’s Frontier Technologies strategy, where he focuses on creating long-term value and enduring relationships with partners. Alongside KEY’s founders, he spent nearly a decade at Partners Group focused on investing and capital formation, contributing to the deployment of more than $900M across private-market investments. Jake is a co-founder and general partner at Traditional Digital and founder of Clean Republic, bringing firsthand experience investing in and building businesses around emerging technologies. He holds a BA in International Economics from the University of San Francisco.
